Payroll Giving
What is Payroll Giving?
Payroll Giving is an easy, tax efficient way to donate funds to a charity of your choice and benefits both you as an employee and your charity. Donors sign up to a monthly donation which is taken direct from payroll, before tax deductions are made.[>
This means that a normal rate taxpayer (22%) signing up to a donation of £5 per month will pay only £3.90, whilst the charity receives £5.00.
For higher rate taxpayers (40%) the same donation will cost £3.00.
Why should I sign up?
Taking part in Payroll Giving just requires you to complete a simple form authorising payroll to make deductions from your salary, it couldn’t be simpler!
It’s such an easy way to give to charity and is ideal for busy people who do not have the time to organise or take part in fundraising events.
The scheme is accessible for everyone across the Group (UK based) and if everyone gave just £1 per week, (which will cost 78p) we can help to make a huge difference to many charities and good causes.
Double match your donation!
PLUS! As an added incentive we will double match the first month’s donation of any employee who signs up to payroll giving. This means that if you give £5 per month, Bibby Line Group will double this and your charity will receive £15.*
*To qualify for ‘double match’ funding employees must remain signed up to the scheme for a minimum period of six months.
How do I sign up?
Contact the Community Team and they will send you the relevant paperwork to sign up the Payroll giving scheme.
Remember that often schools, nurseries, scout and cub groups and playgroups are registered charities so this is a great way to support a local cause that means something to you......
